Scotland’s Only Graffiti And Street Art Festival Returns To SWG3.

One of Glasgow’s coolest gatherings, SWG3 – YARDWORKS FESTIVAL could not have manifested itself more perfectly over the duration of two bright and colourful days, as the sun beamed positive vibrations and the clear blue skies were by no means the limit as an inspirational tribe of 120+ street artists from around the spherical descended to display their skilful talents using SWG3’s warehouse building, surrounding streets, walls and railway arches as their canvas. There was also more than 700 metres of wall space for the artists to spectacularly transform into strikingly colourful murals.

This celebration of live and curated graffiti art is Scotland’s only graffiti and street art festival to take place, with this year being the second consecutive year running. The fest has has taken no time to expanded with 11,000 people attending over the duration of two days to witness the spectacular art unfold, as well as gaining the opportunity to experience workshops and musical performances, a custom-built Montana Cans pop-up shop and high skate ramp, as well as street food vendors, cocktail bars, and a creation station for kids.

The atmosphere was absolutely superb, with live DJ sets being spun while people drank, ate and socialised as splashes of colour and creativity sprung to life all around them. The level of work and professionalism injected into this gathering is highly commendable and the fact the festival is economical, with kids allowed in for free and a 5 spot per-head, each day, is super excellent. Lasting three days from eleven in the morning until eight o’clock at night the fest feels like it is locked within its Goldilocks hours, as an all-accommodating, positive vibe truly radiates throughout this unique festival.
