My wounded and fractured heart spills out onto this page in the hope that I can alleviate the sting of loss which is braided amongst a deluge of sadness from the sudden and overwhelmingly tragic suicide of Keith Flint which took place in his Essex home March 4th with a further announcement from the coroner, seven days later, Monday 11th that his suicide was by hanging.
As a devoted fan of Keith and The Prodigy from I am thirteen years old, as well as someone who has lost two close friends to suicide and has faced three immediate family deaths within the past four years I own an ocean depth worth of compassion and understanding for the grief of Keith’s passing.
Each individual who has been affected by his magnetic force goes on their own unique journey at this particular time in order to find a mechanism for coping with the loss and ultimately to find acceptance. My heartfelt condolences go out to Keith’s band-brothers Liam & Maxim, his loved ones, family and loyal fans for what they are going through at this time.

From my own personal experience of facing sudden death, as well as death which I’ve tried to prepare for through terminal illness I’ve realized an acute sharp focus and clarity on what truly matters in my life and felt utterly surrendered by a guiding force of nature which has led me undeniably closer to realization. Which for me is, self-realization, conscious awareness, internal space, as well as distribution of love, understanding and compassion for others and ultimately oneself, unified by an absolute acceptance of all that is outwith my control. The vibrancy of life has never become more apparent than when staring death in the face.
I acknowledge the raw truth that death is a transformative, integral part of life that provides an in-depth appreciation of each given moment, naturally arriving at the unfurling of an acute realization that there is no opposite to death, combined with the awareness that even science concludes that energy never dies, energy only changes form. An inspirational quote from German spiritual teacher, Eckhart Tolle that expresses
“Life has no opposite. The opposite of death is birth. Life is eternal”-
This quote brings great comfort at this time. Keith’s magnetic, energetic creative force, alongside his charismatic, distinctive character has reverberated profoundly across the world, as his thrill-seeking, passionate nature motivated and inspired by all whom he came in contact with. His striking individualism woven amongst the tapestry of oneness.
I feel a deep sadness wash over me knowing his presence is not here in this world anymore, however, I find a lasting comfort in the acceptance that the essence of who Keith is can never be diminished, as his form rose and fell through consciousness, his essence is true and what is true can never be undone.
His choice to transform his energy means he is liberated, as is the many who has gone before him; Chris Cornell, Dolores O’Riordan, Jeff Buckley (to name but a few) Keith left behind an indelible mark through his music, performance style and impulsive, humorous, kind nature. What he has created in life can through his electrifying energetic expression unifies and binds us.
One can reflect through compassion, owning a purpose rather than turbulently battling the internal conflicting thought patterns about a situation that will never become apparent, and that which is placed firmly in the past. Acknowledge that eternal spark is ceaselessly ignited, a spark that guides you through this life for the rest of your days. Rejoice and celebrate what was, and what lives on through you and all of us. It is natural to ask why? We are inherently inquisitive creatures and it is positive to reflect and ask questions in order to understand more in compassion, empathy and love.

We can progress though understanding with the vital key being acceptance of what is. Communication is also key, always communicate your emotions through a channel of your choice whether that be talking, writing, music making or any art/interaction in general. Art is also transformative through interpretation. The most profound, challenging experiences brings forth the greatest lessons.
Somehow the life we shape for ourselves within all the demands and complexities of society doesn’t seems real, facing death has helped me realize this. Somehow, I’ve felt closer to reality and truth through death then I have through everyday living.
We can unconsciously sink into deep chasms of despair through listening to untrue thoughts created by unrealistic ideals of the mind, confused and torn by who we are, and who we wish to be, focusing on what we don’t have, rather than on what we do. We can blame, and we can point the finger, chew ourselves up over the reasons. None of it matters. What matters is the nourishment and protection of one’s essence, through progression within the here and now.
Without resistance life will guide you for what is already written in the stars, when you open yourself enough to allow it, and that’s exactly what Keith Flint did in his life, he rode the highest wave and embraced both the rise and fall of experience.
He was the bravest warrior in both life and in facing his transformation in death and through the seeds of his intention he has sown, he has grown the sturdiest of orchards that even the most raging of fires could not burn down.
He most certainly started a fire in my heart and the hearts of many throughout this world.
Flames that will burn perpetually in his name.
Rest In Eternal Peace Keith Flint – 17th September 1969 – March 4th 2019
My dedicated song to Keith- From one human spirit to another – Rest In Eternal Peace.
Intension
Pure as we begin.
Pure as we come in.
Pure as we begin.
Ruled by will alone.
Pure as we begin.
Here we have a stone.
Gather, place, erase so.
Shelter turns to home.
Pure as we begin.
Here we have a stone.
Throw to stay the stranger.
Swore to crush his bones.
Ruled by will alone.
Spark becomes a flame.
Flame becomes a fire.
Light the way or warm this.
Home we occupy.
Spark becomes a flame.
Flame becomes a fire.
Forge a blade to slay the stranger.
Take whatever we desire.
Moved by will alone.
Pure as we begin.
Pure as we begin.
Move by will alone.
Leave as we come in.
Pure as light return to one.
Move by will alone.
Move by will alone.
